Hayden Stephenson is an active flutist and music educator currently based in Oklahoma. She has completed degrees from Florida State University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She has won several competitions including the Joyce Adams Curtis Concerto/Aria Competition, the Oklahoma City Ladies Music Club Scholarship Competition, the Woodwind Division of the OMTA Solo Competition, and several masterclass competitions through the Oklahoma Flute Society. A passionate educator, Hayden has enjoyed teaching private lessons, clinics, and weekly flute classes to middle school, high school, and undergraduate students.
She has performed with the FSU Wind Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Collegium, Flute Choir, Polymorphia New Music Ensemble, and Ensemble 126. She has also enjoyed several
opportunities to share her research at events including the SWOSU Research Fair, the
Oklahoma Research Fair, the Oklahoma Flute Fair, and the National Flute Association
Convention. Dedicated to giving back to the flute community, Hayden has served as an NFA
Equipment Intern for three years and served as a Collegiate Representative for the Oklahoma Flute Society. Outside of the flute world, she has organized several philanthropic events through Sigma Alpha Iota. Her primary teachers include Shelley Martinson, Karen Large, and Eva Amsler.
