Ensemble 126 gave a world premiere performance of Daniel's winning piece at the National Flute Association Convention in San Antonio. Daniel's composition reflects a bird in flight, represented by the Quena, with the low flutes as the wind the bird glides on. When listening, you feel as if you are gliding with the bird through "seemingly endless Peruvian mountains".
